i) Fees shall be calculated at an agreed hourly rate, which is inclusive of any preparation time required for lessons and one piece of independent learning per week. Other requests for additional homework, reports etc. will be calculated using my standard hourly rate.
ii) The current fee structure is as follows:
- Year 2-4: £17 per session
- Year 5-7: £22 per session
- 1-2-1: £65 per session
iii) Invoices will be distributed monthly via QuickBooks. Payment should be made at least 24 hours in advance of each monthly block of lessons unless otherwise agreed.
v) Acceptable payment method: BACS transfer
i) For each session, I will provide:
- a presentation with a range of engaging activities
- a copy of key lesson slides to support independent learning
- regular feedback
- one independent learning task per week
ii) I aim to provide a safe, supportive, and warm learning environment. Students are expected to treat each other and their tutor with respect. Any issues of unacceptable behaviour will be dealt with immediately. I reserve the right to remove a student from the class if I feel their presence impacts the progress of other students in the group.
iii) Whilst I make every effort to ensure all students and parents are happy with my tuition, I welcome constructive feedback and suggestions of improvements. Personal insults, aggressive behaviour and harassment will not be tolerated. Any such instances will result in the immediate removal of the student (and any siblings) from all lessons.
i) I believe it is vital for a student to find the right tutor. Therefore, I offer both a free initial consultation and a paid trial session.
ii) Once the trial has been completed, you will be contacted to discuss whether you would like to proceed with weekly sessions. If you do not respond within 48 hours, your place will be allocated to a student on the group waiting list.
iii) Once weekly sessions have been agreed, they will continue until you inform me of your wish to terminate the sessions. The notice period to terminate weekly sessions is 4 weeks.
iv) Lessons will continue during holidays (excluding Christmas and my other holiday dates which I will share with you in advance). I will usually take part of each school holiday off. Should you wish to be excused from holiday sessions, please advise me before the start of the calendar month (see Section 6: Cancellations).
v) Sessions will not take place on Bank Holidays including Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, May Day, etc
vi) During the Easter and Summer holidays, I will offer a selection of alternative times during the week (including daytime slots) for your weekly sessions.
vii) Once an invoice is paid, the cost of the session will not be refunded, or carried forward, unless:
- I am unable to deliver the session due to illness or technical issues
- You experience an emergency (at the Company Director’s discretion)
i) Students are asked to join the Zoom room no more than 5 minutes before the session starts as other lessons will be taking place.
ii) If your child is going to be late, when possible, please send a message or email to advise me of their expected arrival time.
iii) Lessons will begin and end on time. No additional time will be added for late students, but they will be provided with a copy of any missed work.
iv) For group sessions, if your child is more than 15 minutes late, they will not be admitted to the class to avoid disruption for the other members of the group. Refunds will not be given for lateness. If your child is experiencing technical issues, the 15 minute rule will be waivered, providing contact has been made via message or email.
v) For 1-2-1 sessions, if your child doesn’t arrive, I will send a message after 5 minutes.
If, after 10 minutes, your child still hasn’t arrived, I will close the Zoom meeting but I will be available to join again if you message or call me.
vi) If I experience technical issues, the missed time will be noted and added on to the session (where possible) or to subsequent sessions.
Regular sessions are required to make progress. Therefore, where possible, lessons should be consistent. However, I am fully aware that other situations and events sometimes need to take priority over tuition.
Acceptable reasons for cancellation include:
i) Family holidays
ii) Family events e.g. weddings, birthdays etc.
iii) Religious celebrations
iv) School events e.g. open evenings, celebrations etc.
v) Medical appointments e.g. doctor, orthodontist etc.
vi) Other events not mentioned and agreed with the Company Director
